New Mayor Takes Oath as Detroit Vows Rebirth

Ken V. Cockrel Jr. was sworn in as Detroit’s 61st mayor, a job thrust upon him after Kwame M. Kilpatrick resigned after pleading guilty to obstruction of justice.
